Gaps Persist in Iran–US Talks
In comments aired on state television, Qalibaf explained that while certain matters between Iran and the United States have been settled, crucial issues are still unresolved.
“We have reached conclusions on some issues, but there are still major gaps on others, and we are far from a final agreement,” he said.
Qalibaf emphasized that Iran’s strategy relies on mutual, incremental commitments from both parties involved.
“It should not be that we fulfill our obligations and then the other side does nothing in return,” he said.
He further noted that Iran remains at odds with the United States over matters related to Tehran’s nuclear activities and the Strait of Hormuz, while reaffirming that the country is still dedicated to securing enduring peace.
“We have goodwill for a sustainable peace,” he said.
Additionally, Qalibaf remarked that the US-Israeli war had not succeeded in accomplishing its intended objectives.
