Ukraine Targets Key Russian Drone Facility
The Ukrainian General Staff stated that the attack is expected to diminish Russia’s capacity to manufacture UAVs (drones) and undermine its ability to launch strikes against civilian areas within Ukraine. The targeted facility, Atlant Aero, is known for overseeing the development, assembly, and testing of Molniya-type strike and reconnaissance drones, in addition to producing parts for the Orion UAV system.
Reports also indicated that Ukrainian forces hit several other “important facilities,” including supply depots in Manhush, Topolyne, and Mariupol within the occupied Donetsk region. Additional targets reportedly included locations in Smile in occupied Zaporizhzhia, fuel reserves near occupied Novopoltavka, and a munitions storage site close to Trudove in Zaporizhzhia.
Meanwhile, Yury Slyusar, governor of Russia’s Rostov region, shared via Telegram that three individuals sustained injuries in Taganrog during the overnight strikes. “A missile strike on Taganrog damaged commercial infrastructure. A fire broke out at warehouse facilities,” he said.
In a separate statement, Russia’s Defense Ministry asserted that over the previous 24 hours, its forces had targeted Ukrainian energy systems, manufacturing sites, and launch positions for long-range drones. It also claimed strikes were conducted against temporary bases used by Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters across 142 locations.
