Israel States Hezbollah Intel Leader Murdered in Lebanon Attacks

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced on Monday that it had eliminated the head of Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters during an operation carried out in Lebanon.

According to an official military statement, Hussein Makled was killed in overnight air raids conducted by Israeli forces. The statement also warned Hezbollah of the "consequences" of attacking and aligning itself with Iran.

Earlier in the day, Israeli aircraft carried out strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs as well as multiple locations in southern Lebanon. Figures released by Lebanon’s Health Ministry indicated that 31 people were killed and 149 others wounded in those initial attacks.

Air operations continued throughout Monday, with Israeli forces targeting additional towns and villages in southern Lebanon, alongside further bombardment in parts of Beirut.

In response, Hezbollah announced that it had launched rockets and drones at a military site in northern Israel. The group described the action as retaliation for ongoing Israeli strikes inside Lebanon and for the joint US-Israeli military offensive directed at Iran.
